The Progress Estate was built as Housing for munitions workers towards the end of world war one and subsequently taken over by Royal Arsenal Co-operative Society and sold when the RACS was taken over by the CWS. Well within the traditions of the Garden Cities Movement
the houses are in a pleasing maedieval cottage style and are attractively arranged with delightful vistas. The Estate has worn very well in its 90 or so years. Enjoy the photo essay.
